squinting at the future

I have been working in the same industry for about seven years. This evening I realized that I am qualified for a job doing something similar for a much larger and more respected company. Could I make the leap?

Pros:
learn about a new industry
meet new people
more growth potential
likely a more professional and respectful environment
possibility for a better compensation and benefits package

Cons:
emotional attachment to current position (this is a biggie)
inability to use my area of expertise
loss of seniority

It's just an idea I'm floating: Do I want to change my life?
